I made this banana bread yesterday. It doesn’t have any butter or sugar in it. Instead, it has apple sauce and honey. It is really yummy! I hope you enjoy this recipe.
Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup honey
2 eggs
3 mashed bananas
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease a loaf pan (approx. 9×5 inch pan)
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: In separate bowl, mix applesauce and honey.
Step 4: Stir in eggs
Step 5: Add mashed bananas and stir until well blended
Step 6: Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten
Step 7: Add walnuts
Step 8: Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto a wire rack.
Step 9 enjoy

It looks good! I use apple sauce to replace half the fat, but have never tried NO fat… I also use coconut oil instead of butter in baking and can cut the butter in recipes to half with this method. Also, have been trying stevia to replace a lot of the sugar – with good results (getting the amount right is a challenge, though… like Goldilocks it has to be JUST right)…
It actually tasted really good. I bought some stevia but haven’t tried it yet. I will have to soon :) thanks for the comment!
May I have a slice with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Looks yummy. Best blog yet!
Thanks!!
